FAQs
Your Questions Answered
I know you may have questions about my services and approach.
Below, you’ll find answers to commonly asked questions to help you navigate the therapy process with more confidence and clarity.
How do I schedule a session?
You can easily schedule a therapy session online through the Mindful Therapy Group website.
Simply choose a time and date that work for you and follow the prompts to confirm your appointment.
What types of therapy do you offer?
I offer individual telehealth therapy sessions for adults navigating challenges such as stress, anxiety, and mood regulation.
My approach is personalized and responsive to the unique needs, goals, and circumstances of each client.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, I request at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid a cancellation fee.
This helps me offer that time to other clients seeking support and makes it easier to find a new time that works for you.
What can I expect in the first session?
In our first session, you can expect a supportive, collaborative conversation where we get to know each other and explore what’s bringing you to therapy.
I’ll ask about what you’ve been experiencing, a bit about your history, and what you’re hoping will feel different.
Together, we’ll clarify your goals, discuss what approaches might be most helpful, and begin mapping out how our work together can best support your needs.
What issues do you specialize in?
I support people navigating stress, anxiety, overwhelm, burnout, emotional ups and downs, sleep challenges, self-esteem concerns, hormonal shifts, chronic illness and pain, and life transitions.
If you’re not sure how to describe what you’re going through, we can explore it together.
My approach is gentle, collaborative, and tailored to you.
I draw from CBT, ACT, DBT, positive psychology, strengths- and solutions-focused therapies, polyvagal-informed therapy, and somatic-informed practices.
I also incorporate mind–body practices such as mindfulness, meditation, visualization, and breathwork to support you in feeling more grounded, resilient, and connected to yourself.
What does CSWA mean?
CSWA stands for Clinical Social Work Associate. It means I’m a licensed therapist in Oregon, completing supervised hours toward full licensure.
I provide therapy directly to clients and meet regularly with a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) for supervision to ensure you receive high‑quality, ethical care.
Do you work with trauma?
I can support you with stress, emotional regulation, and coping skills, but I do not specialize in trauma-focused therapy.
If you’re looking for intensive trauma treatment, I’m happy to help you connect with a trauma specialist.
Do you use somatic-informed practices?
I integrate gentle, somatic-informed practices to support stress reduction, emotional regulation, and coping skills, including simple body-awareness and grounding tools.
If you’re looking for intensive, trauma-focused somatic treatment, I’m happy to help you connect with a specialist who offers that level of care.
What are somatic-informed practices?
Somatic-informed practices gently include the body, breath, posture, movement, and sensation in the healing process.
Instead of focusing only on thoughts and stories, we pay attention to how your body is holding stress and what helps it feel safer and more supported.
How does this look in session?
We move at your pace with lots of choice and consent.
Sessions may include gentle grounding, noticing sensations, small movements, or supportive breathing, always paired with talking and reflection.
You never have to re-live trauma; we focus on what feels manageable and resourcing right now.
What is nervous system regulation?
Nervous system regulation means helping your body come out of chronic stress, overwhelm, or shutdown and into a more balanced, grounded state.
A regulated system can respond to life’s challenges and then return to calm more easily.
Who is this helpful for?
Somatic-informed work can support anxiety, overwhelm, burnout, and the impacts of stress.
It can help you feel more present, connected to your body, and able to respond rather than react.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. Sessions are billed through Mindful Therapy Group, P.C.
